Women's Basketball wins important conference road game at Kenyon

GAMBIER, OHIO - The Wittenberg Tigers kept pace in the North Coast Athletic Conference race, ringing up a very important road victory over Kenyon, 66-58.

The Tigers led at halftime by eight points, but that lead evaporated in the second half. Trailing by three points with 12:05 left in the game, Wittenberg got a layup by junior forward Tiffany Keller and then five straight points from junior guard Kate Rolf. It wound up a decisive 15-2 Wittenberg run over seven minutes.

For the game, Wittenberg got 16 points each from Keller and Rolf to show the way on offense. Keller added a career-high 13 rebounds for her second double-double in the last three games. Also finishing in double figures scoring for the Tigers were freshman guard Emilie Schmid with 11 points and junior forward Meghan Bruggeman with 10 points, both off the bench.

The win improved Wittenberg to 11-4 overall and 6-1 in the NCAC, heading into a weekend road trip to Wooster on Saturday. The Tigers are one-half game behind defending conference champion Ohio Wesleyan, with a home game against the Bishops slated for Saturday, Jan. 26.
