Women's Basketball wallops Hiram to remain unbeaten in NCAC play

SPRINGFIELD, OHIO - The Wittenberg Tiger women's basketball team took care of business Friday night, knocking off North Coast Athletic Conference rival Hiram at the HPER Center by a final score of 94-41.

The Tigers led from the outset and thoroughly dominated the visiting Terriers, who fell to 2-9 overall and 0-4 in the NCAC. Wittenberg forced 36 turnovers and allowed Hiram to shoot just 28 percent from the field in the game.

Wittenberg was led offensively by junior forward Meghan Bruggeman, who came off the bench to score a career-high 12 points. Fourteen of the 15 Tiger players who saw action in the game scored at least two points, and three others also had career high point totals. Freshman guard Emilie Schmid's nine points, sophomore forwardAmanda Lewis' six points and junior guard LeighAnn Forshey's seven points were all career bests.

The win was Wittenberg's third straight since a loss at Defiance on Dec. 15 and was the Tigers' third against no defeats in NCAC contests. The Tigers, 8-3 overall, get right back into it Saturday against Allegheny, also at the HPER Center.
