Round Up: Tigers Hold a Steady Fourth

Wittenberg split a pair of games last week, losing 73-62 at Denison (Jan. 16), then rolling to an easy 81-54 win at Wooster (Jan. 20).

The Tigers find themselves in fourth place in the NCAC, one-half game behind third place Denison and one-half game in front of fifth place Earlham.

Wittenberg led 28-24 at halftime and shot 51 percent from the field against Denison, but lost as the Big Red hit 27 of 31 (87.1 percent) from the free throw line.

Sophomore guard Stephanie Campbell (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern) with 16 points was the only Tiger to score in double figures. Sophomore forward Kate Rolf (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) added six points, eight rebounds and nine assists.

At Wooster, Wittenberg stormed to a 24-4 lead in the first 8 1/2 minutes and never looked back. All 12 Tigers who played in the game scored. Sophomore forward Tiffany Keller (Massillon, Ohio/Tuslaw) had 13 points and Campbell 11 points. Rolf had another nice all-around game with nine points, seven rebounds and six assists.

In the NCAC statistics, Campbell is second is steals (3.5), while Rolf is third in assists (3.9).
