Coach Goodwin Adds Dan Davis To Tiger Softball Staff

Springfield, Ohio - Dan Davis is the new Tigers softball assistant coach beginning with the 2023-24 academic year.

Davis joins Head Coach Ashley Goodwin's staff after serving as an assistant coach with Kenton Ridge High School, during the 2022-23 season.

The Parkersburg, WV native joins the Tigers softball program after retiring from the US Army in 2021, achieving the rank of Sergeant Major (SGM), serving multiple combat deployments including Iraq/Afghanistan during his 20-year military career. He was the head softball coach of the All-Army Softball program in 2019 and has coached travel softball teams in NC, AZ, and OH. Coach Davis brings a mental performance edge to the Tiger's program as a certified mental performance coach.  He has worked with numerous high-level athletes/teams on the mental approach, understanding mental performance is the missing link to help athletes get from where they are to where they want to be, in athletics and in life. Davis earned a degree in general studies from Ohio Valley University as well as a master's in sport administration/coaching philosophy from American Military University.  Coach Davis resides in Springfield, OH with his wife Mandy (Goin) Davis, and their three children.
