GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The Wittenberg Tigers saw their 2015 season come to a disappointing conclusion in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Tournament with a 2-0 loss to Denison.

The Tigers, the No. 2 seed in the tourney, finished the year with a 20-17 overall record. Fourth-seeded Denison moved into the championship round against No. 1 seed DePauw and pushed the tourney to a seventh and final game before losing to the host Tigers to finish 22-19 on the season.

For a second straight day, Wittenberg got outstanding pitching from a first-year starter as freshman Abby Haab (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) toed the rubber and tossed six innings, allowing two earned runs in the first inning. For the game, Haab allowed six hits and one walk while striking out three in falling to 7-10 on the season.

After Denison put two runs on the board in the first inning, the Tigers and Big Red battled to a scoreless draw. Freshman Charlee Clark (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) finished with two of Wittenberg's five hits in the game, and sophomore Casey Hobbs (Fairborn, Ohio/Carroll) contributed a double to the attack, but the Tigers stranded six base-runners in the game.

Two Tigers earned spots on the 2015 NCAC All-Tournament team: junior Loren Combs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) and junior Kaela Hughes (Columbus, Ohio/Watterson).
