March 15, 2001 - The Tigers had an interesting trip to Fort Myers, Fla. They posted two shutouts, while also being blanked twice, and Wittenberg scored in double figures twice, while allowing double digits in runs in two games. 

Wittenberg opened the trip with a 2-0 win over Point Park. Freshman Carmen Montgomery (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern) tossed a complete-game six-hit shutout in her collegiate debut. 

Senior outfielder Kristin Kallendorf (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) had a pair of good hitting performanceson the trip. She went 4-for-4 with a double in a 11-3 win over Beloit and 2-for-3 with a double in 6-2 loss to Holy Family. Senior third baseman Amy Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/Wyoming) went 2-for-3 with a home run in a 3-0 win over Eastern College. 

Sophomore infielder Stephanie Campbell (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern) went 2-for-2 with a double in a 13-4 loss to Bethel, Ind. Campbell, fresh off a successful season with the Wittenberg basketball team, had only been practicing with the softball team for a week. 

Another Springfield-area player, freshman Kelly Riedel (Springfield, Ohio/Northwestern) went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles in a 10-3 win over Emanuel.
