In addition, one of the women's team runners earned All-America honors.

From 2006-08, Binkley was the assistant cross country and track & field coach at Nicholls State University. He helped guide the women's cross country program to its best finish ever in the Southland Conference, and he coached women's middle distance and distance runners to a school-record performance in the 1,500 meters. Binkley also spent one year at Colorado State-Pueblo.

A native of Erie, Colo., Binkley earned his bachelor's degree from Augustana in 2000 and his master's degree from Emporia State in 2003.
