Wittenberg Cross Country Collects All-America Honors

Springfield, Ohio – After an impressive 2017 season which included a win on his home course at the Wittenberg Invitational. Junior Charles Rodeheffer added Academic All-American honors to his list of awards this season. Rodeheffer became All-America eligible after completing the 8k Great Lakes Regional in a time of 26:04.5 for a 19th place finish, earning him Great Lakes All-Region honors along with holding over a 3.2 GPA. It is the best finish by a Wittenberg runner at the Great Lakes Regional since Jon Osman crossed the line in a time of 25:32.3 in 2014. This is the 11th time the Wittenberg Cross Country program has earned the Academic All-America honor.

"One of our top goals every year is to reflect the dedication our team has toward academic success. The kids are very dedicated and motivated to be the best students they can be. It is a great honor for both teams and Charles as an individual to receive this award a second time," said coach Craig Penney.
