Tiger Finish Strong at Otterbein Invitational

WESTERVILLE, Ohio—Wittenberg cross country continued to improve on their hard work as a program the last couple weeks, as the Tigers had strong showings at the Otterbein Invitational over the weekend. Wittenberg was again led by freshman Alexis Gray who finished the 6K in 24:28.3, good enough for 16th place individually out of the 219 runners competing. Gray's hot start to 2016 has been nothing short of impressive for the Tigers, as the Washington Courthouse, Ohio native has competed with the best of them so far in her young collegiate career. As a team, the women's program finished In sixth place out of the 19 team field.

                           On the men's side, Wittenberg was paced by Jon Osman who took home 12th place individual honors in a field of 215 runners. Osman finished the 8K with a time of 27:27.4 as the senior continued his impressive start to 2016. Charles Rodeheffer cracked the top 25 of Saturdays race, recording a time of 27:56.2, taking home 24th place. As a team, the Tigers finished in 13th out of the 17 teams competing.

  • "Solid efforts from the women's side, as we are really beginning to compete and challenge each other. I feel that developing our depth has helped are team unite, I am very pleased with the efforts on both sides as we continue to work on the mental side of racing. Overall I am satisfied, but as always, there is still work to be done," said Coach Penney.
