Jon Osman Leads Wittenberg on Individual All Academic List, as Both Tiger Programs Earn All Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana-- 352 women from 207 teams and 268 men from 151 teams nabbed USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. To earn that distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25 percent at their respective regional. Wittenberg's very own, Jon Osman (Troy, Ohio/Troy) earned the distinction for the second time in his Wittenberg career. On the team side of things, both Wittenberg's men's and women's cross country program were named All Academic for the 9th time in school history.

OSMAN

  •  Osman earned this distinctive honor for the second time in his Wittenberg career. The junior has put together an impressive resume on the course thus far, nabbing NCAC athlete of the week honors, as well honorable mention All-NCAC honors.
  • Back in November, 70 student-athletes (35 from each gender) garnered All-America recognition. Of those, 27 women landed All-Academic honors, compared to 17 men.
  • There were 25 women that posted perfect GPAs (4.00), while 12 men did the same.

WITTENBERG

  • Coach Penney's women's program finished with a cumulative team GPA of 3.33, as the men's team finished at 3.47.
  • This is the 9th time that both teams have earned this distinction in Wittenberg's history.
  • Overall, there were 207 women's teams that finished the semester with GPAs of 3.1 or better.
  • For the men, there were 151 teams with GPAs of 3.1 or better.
