Tigers Wrap Up 2015 Campaign At Great Lakes Regional

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Wittenberg Tigers put the finishing touches on the 2015 season at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional meet, checking in 26th in the men's competition and 28th in the women's race.

The women's 6K race, which included 33 teams, was won by Hope, which finished with 112 points, to beat rival Calvin by 12 and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) powerhouse Allegheny by 17. The men's 8K race, with 36 teams entered, was won was Wabash with 99 points, followed closely by Allegheny with 101 and Calvin with 122.

The top individual finish by a Wittenberg runner was turned in by junior Jon Osman (Troy, Ohio/Troy). He finished 47th in the 260-runner field with a time of 26:21.

Senior Courtland Johnson (Versailles, Ky./Woodford County) was next for the Tiger men in 129th, followed by freshman Charles Rodeheffer (Delaware, Ohio/Olentangy) in 164th, freshman Alex Quillin (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) in 167th and junior Ethan Raines (Maineville, Ohio/Little Miami) in 175th.

On the women's side, the Tigers were led by junior Erin Hord (Madison, Ohio/Madison) in 128th place with a time of 25:00. Close behind was senior Lorin Conti (Milford, Ohio/Milford) in 136th place.

Rounding out the scorers for Wittenberg were senior Megan Heitkemper (Maineville, Ohio/Kings) in 157th, junior Hannah Meier (North Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon) in 164th and senior Megan Bittinger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Christian) in 174th.
