Tigers Run Well In Tune-Up For NCAC Championship Meet

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Wittenberg men's and women's cross country teams got a closer look at the course to be used by the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) to decide its 2012 championship later this season at the Pre-NCAC Invitational, hosted by the College of Wooster.

Wittenberg's men placed sixth in the 8K race, 10 points behind Kenyon in the six-team field. Wittenberg's women also placed sixth in the 6K race.

Individually, the top Tiger men's finisher was junior Jacob Kuntz (Versailles, Ky./Woodford County), who placed eighth in a time of 27:21. Junior Wade Westbrook (Columbus, Ohio/Whetstone) was next in 20th place in a time of 28:05, followed by sophomore Adam Kapuscinski (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) in 29th place in 28:53.

On the women's side, the leader of the Wittenberg pack was junior Molly King (Springfield, Ohio/Northeastern) with an eighth-place finish in a time of 23:57. Next up for Wittenberg was senior Chelsey Williams (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury) in 37th in a time of 26:26 and freshman Sarah Webb (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg) in 38th in 26:28.
