The Wittenberg men's and women's cross country teams have concluded the regular season portion of the 2004 schedule, and they are now hard at work heading into the home stretch of the season. In the regular season wrap-up at Ohio Northern last Saturday, the Tigers placed seventh of nine teams on the men's side and seventh of eight on the women's. Mike Echols (Springfield, Ohio/North) had a personal-best time of 27:44 as he took 29th place, tops on the team. He was followed by Chris Petrik (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) in 43rd in 28:45, David Wallingford (Bellevue, Ohio/Bellevue) in 44th in 29:02, Mike Wismer (Avon, Ohio/Avon) in 48th in 29:31 and Shawn Hils (Hiram, Ohio/Crestwood) in 50th in 29:39. The women were paced again by Mary Beth Lintz (Englewood, Ohio/Northmont) with a personal-best time of 25:45, good for 27th place. Sarah Yehle (West Lafayette, Ind./West Lafayette) in 39th in 26:53, Alissa Goble (Sunfield, Mich./Lakewood) in 41st in 27:11, Megan O'Neil (Carroll, Ohio/Bloom-Carroll) in 45th in 27:31 and Jessica McClish (Shelby, Ohio/Shelby) in 48th in 28:07 were next in line for the Tigers.
