Tigers Roar Past Mount Union

Springfield, Ohio – The Wittenberg men's volleyball team took down the Raiders from the University of Mount Union, by a final score of 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-14). As the Tigers cruised to their second three-set win of the season, the Red and White recorded a .214 attacking percentage while holding the Raiders to swinging negative at -.162 on the night. The Wittenberg offense was led by Collin Buelow and Isaiah Brock, as Buelow tallied seven kills and Brock finished with five.

Match Breakdown

The Tigers captured the lead early in each of the three sets and refused to look back. In the first set, Buelow led the attack with four kills on seven attack attempts, adding a block and an ace. Brock would start the match with an efficient .333 attacking percentage, providing two kills on three attempts with one error, and adding a block. Buelow added to his total in the second set, tallying five more kills on 11 swings, adding his second ace of the night. Moving into the second set, Brock planted three kills on four attempts for a .500 attacking percentage, with three more blocks added. The offense ran through Ross Russell and Noah Wissel, as Russell finished the night with 10 assists and Wissel finished the night with 11.

"The team came out very focused tonight and executed the things we wanted to do.  Now we turn our focus to another tough weekend ahead on the road," said head coach Ryan Thompson.

Wittenberg will travel to Juniata for three matches over the weekend, playing their first on Friday, Jan. 25 at 5:00 PM, taking on Southern Virginia.
