Tigers Take Two From Sage and Keuka

Erie, Pa. – The Wittenberg men's volleyball team traveled to Penn. St.-Behrend for a tri-match weekend with Sage University Gators, the Keuka College Wolves, and the host Lions. The Tigers opened up with two matches against Sage and Keuka. Wittenberg made quick work of the Sage Gators 3-0 [25-21, 25-20, 26-24]. Wittenberg tallied a .190 attacking percentage through the first match. Taking on the Wolves of Keuka College in the second match, Wittenberg won 3-0 in straight sets [25-20, 25-19, 25-23]. The Tigers collected 41 kills on 94 attack attempts for a .277 attack percentage in their second match of the day.

 

MATCH ONE vs. Sage

Just Luby led the attack with 13 kills on 27 total attack attempts, ending with a .259 attacking percentage. Ashton Sellers recorded nine kills, adding three block assists and a service ace. Isaiah Brock led the Tigers in efficiency finishing with a .385 attacking percentage with seven kills on 13 total attacks and just two errors. Brock added four block assists and a solo block along with a service ace. Wittenberg opened up with an attacking percentage of .273 in the first set, making just four errors with 13 kills on 33 attack attempts. The Tigers maintained their .200 attack in the second set, recording 14 kills on 35 attack attempts. In a narrow third set victory, Wittenberg kept the positive attack numbers up with 12 kills on 32 attack attempts.

 

MATCH TWO vs. Keuka

Wittenberg would come out firing on all cylinder in their second match of the day, recording a .241 attacking percentage in the opening set. Sellers led the attack with 19 kills on 35 total attack attempts and an efficient .457 attacking percentage. Deion Woodson found his stride in the second match, posting nine kills and adding a block assist. Brock was a disruption at the net with three block assists and two solo blocks to go along with his four kills. Wittenberg would go on to tally a .206 attacking percentage in the second set, holding Keuka to .037 attacking in the second set. The Tigers would have their best offensive set putting the Wolves away with a .387 attacking percentage in the third set with 15 attacks on 31 total attack attempts with just three errors.
