OLIVET, Michigan—Wittenberg men's volleyball put together a perfect day, defeating Olivet in three sets, Illinois Tech in three sets, and Olivet again in three sets. The Tigers 13-16 mark finds the second-year program at an even 8-8 in MCVL play, with three league matches left to play.
SATURDAY NOTES
- Wittenberg made quick work of Olivet on Saturday morning, dropping the comets 25-22, 25-20 and 25-13.
- Joel Sotos racked up 14 kills in the match, as Ross Russell contributed 27 assists.
- Wittenberg slugged a kill-percentage of .365 as a team, while holding Olivet to a clip of .095.
- Wittenberg turned around and rattled of three more solid sets, this time against Illinois Tech, winning the match 25-16, 25-22 and 25-19.
- Sotos paced the Tigers again, this time recording 11 kills in the straight set victory.
- Isaiah Brock came up big defensively for the Tigers against Tech, tallying five total blocks while producing 11.5 points for Wittenberg.
- In the third and final match of the day, Wittenberg defeated Olivet 25-17 25-17 and 25-19.
- Dylan Kolovitz paced the Tigers in this match, recording 14 kills , while Sotos chipped in another 11 kills
- In the final match of the day, the Tigers saw Russell and Noah Wissel produce 37 assists in the match.
