Tiger Track Teams Take 2nd & 3rd At Landon Bond Invite From Berea College

Berea, KY -- This past weekend the men's and women's teams traveled to Berea College for the Landon Bond Invitational. The men were able to take home a second place finish, while the women captured a third place finish.

The men were able to bring home three first places finishes. The first coming from senior, Deven Ramsey in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:06.39. Freshmen, Conor Kolka was also able to grab some points in the 1500 with a sixth place finish of 4:09.76. In the 110 hurdles the Tigers earned 20 points. Senior, Garrin Bachinski, brought home the win with a time of 16.00 seconds. Behind him in third place was Dustin Franks in 17.01 seconds, and in fifth place was Sam Callinan in 19.45 seconds. Continuing with the sprints, sophomore Matt Rogers, was seventh in a time of 11.52 seconds in the 100 meter dash. He came back later in the 200 meter dash in fifth place in 23.06 secinds. In the 800 meter run seniors, Ryan Zimmerman and Deven Ramsey, claimed first and second respectively. They were separated by .30 seconds with Zimmerman running 1:59.58, and Ramsey 1:59.88. To wrap up the running events senior, Andrew Reese, was able to add six points to the Tigers team score earning a third place finish in the 5,000 meter run in 16:45.39. Moving onto field events, freshmen, Justin Norris took third place in high jump, while freshmen, Dustin Franks finished fifth. Franks was able to bounce back in long jump to claim sixth with a jump of 6.05 meters, while freshmen, Joshua Weisenberger claimed eighth with a 5.85 meter jump. In men's pole vault Sam Callinan added a second place finish to his day clearing 3.95 meters. For discus Justin Norris came back to claim seventh with a throw of 35.09 meters, and took fifth place in the javelin throw with 42.64 meters. In shot put, senior Rodney Van Cleaf, threw 11.50 meters to claim a sixth place finish.

For the women's side starting with field events freshmen Julissa Williams finished third in high jump at 1.50 meters. She also claimed third in long jump with a distance of 4.86 meters. Also, in long jump, freshmen, Addy Moore, took eighth with a jump of 3.98 meters. In triple jump, freshmen, Taylor Weiss took the win with a jump of 9.58 meters. Freshmen, Reese Neumeyer was second in pole vault with a height of 2.65 meters. In discus, Mckenna Bruce claimed the fourth place spot with a throw of 33.62 meters, and seventh in the hammer throw at 36.70 meters. Moving into the running events. Sophomore, Corin Turkovich was third in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:01.87. Teammates, Elizabeth Canright was fifth in 5:14.58, and Reese Hartsaugh was seventh in 5:27.59. For the 100 meter hurdles Reese Neumeyer came back to take third in 16.76 seconds. Senior, Maxine Wishman took third in the 400 meter dash in 1:06.04, while freshmen teammate Victoria Pipinich, was sixth in 1:08.95. Freshmen sprinters, Meghan Frazier and Zora Shakham were able to earn points for the Tigers during the 200 meter dash. Frazier was fourth with a time of 26.65 seconds, and Shakham would finish sixth in 27.47 seconds to wrap up the day.

The Tiger's move forward in competition next weekend at the Huntsman Family Invitational, hosted by Wabash College on Saturday April, 9th.
