Tiger Track and Field Competes At All-Ohio Championships

Delaware, Ohio – The Wittenberg University track and field team took part in the Division III All-Ohio Championships from Ohio Wesleyan University. Both the men's and women's sides finished in 13thplace overall, as the men recorded 26 points and the women added 17.

 

Wittenberg took two point-earning positions in the 400m hurdles, with Tyler Gittins taking second-place with a time of 54.62, as Kyle Farnbauch crossed in a time of 56.88 for an eighth-place finish. Kenny Mayes took sixth-place in the 800m run with a time of 1:58.93. The Tiger 4x100m relay team of Tyler BrantonMatt Entsminger, Gittins, and Brandon Johnson took the top spot with a time of 42.38, coming in just ahead of NCAC rival Ohio Wesleyan. The Wittenberg 4x400m relay team of Mayes, Charles Samuel, Gittins, and Austyn Albanese picked up a fifth-place finish in a time of 3:23.27.

 

Ryelee Clary took the top spot in the 100m hurdles with a final time of 15.35. Alexis Gray took seventh-place in the 800m run in a time of 2:21.89. The Tiger 4x400m relay team of Gray, Anna LeboldTaylor Barnhisel, and Samantha Mitchell earned a fifth-place finish in a time of 4:08.37. The Wittenberg 4x100m relay team of Alexis JohnsonTiarra AvantSamantha MitchellLeah Hilley placed eighth with a final time of 51.36.

 

UP NEXT: Wittenberg will take part in the Kenyon Spring Invitational and the Jesse Owens Classic from Ohio State University on Saturday, April 21.
