Kenny Mayes Earns NCAA DIII Indoor Track & Field All-Region

Springfield, Ohio – Wittenberg men's track and field Kenny Mayes earned NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field All-Region honors. Mayes crossed the line at the 2018 NCAC Indoor Championships in the 800m race in a time of 1:57.10, picking up the first-place finish for the Tigers. Mayes was also part of the Wittenberg men's 4x400m relay team of along with, Marcus O'Neal, Kyle Farnbauch, and Tyler Gittins that earned a third-place finish with a final time of 3:26.49.

Mayes had built up some momentum and confidence heading into the conference championship meet, setting a new Wittenberg record in the 600m run from the DePauw Invitational, crossing the line in a time of 1:24.82. Winning his first 800m race of the indoor season at the Wooster Fighting Scot Invitation, Mayes posted a time of 2:01.63 back in January as he consistently shaved time stating with a 2:02 finish at the first indoor meet of the season from Mount Union.
