WOOSTER, Ohio - The Wittenberg men's and women's track and field teams put together their most complete performance so far in the 2014-15 indoor season, with the Tiger men finishing first and the Tiger women placing third in the five-team field.

Wittenberg's men piled up 138 points to easily outdistance second-place Oberlin. On the women's side, the Tigers finished with 97 points to end up behind Oberlin with 139 points and Wooster with 131. Denison and Kenyon rounded out the All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) field.

The men's competition featured a sweep of the sprint events as senior Victor Banjo (Sugarland, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) took the top spot in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash and senior Justin Yates (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook) followed that with a win in the 400-meter dash. Senior Adam Kapuscinski (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) added a first-place finish in the 800-meter run as well.

Kapuscinski and Yates ran two legs of the winning 4x400-meter relay as well. They were joined in the event by sophomore Cody Shutt (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) and senior Austin Butler (Carroll, Ohio/Bloom Carroll).

Rounding out the top scorers on the men's side, freshman Tyler Everidge (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook) placed second in the high jump, sophomore Alex Owens (Enon, Ohio/Greenon) contributed a second-place finish in the pole vault and junior Daniel Mason (Springfield, Ohio/Greenon) took second in the weight throw. Finally, juniors Aaron Melsop (Westerville, Ohio/DeSales) and Justin Fisher (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) stood out in the jumps, with Melsop finishing first in the long jump and third in the triple jump and Fisher placing second in both events.

Turning to the women, junior Brea Medlock (Galena, Ohio/Big Walnut) was a double-winner after topping the field in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dash. Medlock was unbeaten on the day, adding wins in the 4x200-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay. She was joined on the former relay by junior Jordan Crow (North Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde), sophomore Frankie Bowsher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) and sophomore Alaina Longshore (Columbus, Ohio/Franklin Heights), and in the latter by freshman Sara Richards (Columbus, Ohio/Gahanna Lincoln), Bowsher and Longshore.

Crow added a third-place finish in the long jump and second in the 60-meter hurdles, sophomore Erin Hord (Madison, Ohio/Madison) crossed the line third in the 3000-meter run, and Richards took third in the 60-meter dash. In addition, Longshore placed second in the 400-meter dash, and Bowsher finished third in the same race.
