Men's Tennis falls 9-0 to Carthage on Day 3 of spring break schedule

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Wittenberg men's tennis team continued its four-game spring break trip in Florida on Wednesday with a 9-0 loss to Carthage.

The Basics

  • On the doubles courts, junior Ethan Libby (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) and senior Kyle Fout (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) fell 4-8 at No. 1, junior Mark Trinka (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) and freshman Henry Smith-Heston (Yellow Springs, Ohio/Yellow Springs) fell 1-8 at No. 2 and freshmen Sven Van den Eerenbeemt (S-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands/Gymnasium Beekvliet) and Jacob Bennett (Pickerington, Ohio/Central) fell 1-8 at No. 3.
  • Libby fell 3-6, 2-6 at No. 1 singles.
  • Trinka fell 3-6, 2-6 at No. 2 singles.
  • Fout fell 6-7(5) and 6-7(3) in a tight match at No. 3 singles.
  • Van den Eerenbeemt fell 2-6, 0-6 at No. 4 singles.
  • Bennett fell 4-6, 0-6 at No. 5 singles.
  • Freshman Andrew Garofoli (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) fell 2-6, 6-7(6) at No. 6 singles.
