Tigers Sweep Battling Bishops From The Road

Delaware, OH – Wittenberg men's Tennis take both wins on Saturday afternoon over the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops. The Tigers won 5-4 in the first match of the day by winning two of three in the doubles competition. John Devito and Jake Stockhausen won the first doubles competition (8-7), while Roy Jensen and Joe Patton took the third (8-7). The Tigers then went on to the singles competition ending, splitting the decision 3-3 against the Battling Bishops. Jake Stockhausen, Joe Patton, and Kyle Fout won each of their singles competitions.

The Tigers were looking to come out strong in the second match of the day, and they delivered, winning 5-0 over the Battling Bishops. Wittenberg took all three of the doubles competitions. The first doubles match was won by Devito and Stockhausen with a score of 8-6. The duo of Fout and Guille Del Rio Gonzalez won the second match (8-5). On the third doubles court for the Tigers, the pairing of Jensen and Patton won their match (8-7). Stockhausen and Del Rio Gonzalez helped propel the Tigers by each winning on the singles court in the second and final match of the day.
