Dayton, Ohio – After dropping its last two matches against Sewanee and Dayton, the Wittenberg Men's Tennis team got back in the win column on St. Patrick's Day with a convincing 9-0 win over Ohio Athletic Conference foe Heidelberg at the Five Seasons Sports Club in Dayton.

Who Stood Out

The Tigers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the match after doubles play, which included the tandem of seniors Timmy McNulty and Kieren Thomas posting an 8-3 win in the top doubles flight.

In singles play, Wittenberg also posted a perfect 6-0 record to complete the 9-0 win over Heidelberg, highlighted by senior Martin Mora picking up a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win in the top flight over Kyle Alexander and sophomore Nathan Baulch also posting a clean sweep over Alex Sprague in the sixth flight. Freshman Gavin Tay had the toughest test of the day in the fourth singles flight as he grinded out a 6-4, 6-1 win in the fourth flight over Porus Shroff.

The Tigers will now shift their attention toward conference opponents as six of their next seven matches are against NCAC foes, starting with a 4:00 p.m. home match against West Division-rival Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday, March 20th.
