DAYTON, Ohio – The Wittenberg men's tennis team played its first match of 2015 at the Dayton Center Courts, where they fell 5-2 to NCAA Division I opponent Wright State.

The Tigers fell to 1-1 on the 2014-15 campaign ahead of their annual spring break trip, this year to Orlando, Fla., which begins with an 11:30 a.m. match against Berry College.

Against the Raiders of Wright State, freshman Martin Mora (Quito, Ecuador) and junior Stas Pakhomov (Richmond, British Columbia/Sir Winston Churchill) led 3-1 when their no. 1 doubles opponents retired, but the Tigers dropped the No. 2 and 3 matchups and subsequently the single point awarded for doubles action in the match.

Mora went on to win the No. 1 singles slot 7-6, 6-4 against Wright State's Andrew Connolly. Senior Alexey Topolyanskiy (Moscow, Russia/School 712) picked up the other Tiger point at third singles with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Myles Harris.
