The Wittenberg men's and women's tennis teams are putting
the finishing touches on the fall portion of the 2004-05 season
this week. The women capped things with several solid showings at
the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Regional
Tournament at DePauw University last weekend, while the men are
hosting the same competition this weekend at the Georgiana Albright
Tennis Complex.
For the women, the best singles finishes were turned in by
sophomore Emma Robinow (Yellow Springs,
Ohio/Yellow Springs), who won two matches in the
back draw after losing in the first round of the tournament, and
senior Sarah Fassler (Cincinnati, Ohio/St.
Ursula), who won a three-set match in the first
round before falling to a seeded opponent in the second
round.
In doubles, Wittenberg picked up a first-round win from
Fassler and junior Mallory Meyer (Darien,
Conn./Darien) before they lost an eighth-seeded
tandem from Kalamazoo College in the second round.
The Tiger men got things going today. Results were be
available late each day of the tournament.
