Men's, Women's Swimming and Diving post solid performances on Day 3 of NCAC Championships

GRANVILLE — The Wittenberg men's and women's swimming and diving teams posted solid performances, including some personal-bests and program top-10 times, on the third of four days of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Denison University on Friday.

  • The Wittenberg men have scored 258.5 points and are currently in eighth place of nine teams, while the women have scored 395 points and are currently in sixth place of eight teams.
  • Denison currently leads the men's standings with 1,293 points and the women's standings with 1,286.5 points.

Wittenberg Highlights - Prelims

  • Every Tiger swimmer who competed in the morning prelims qualified for the evening finals session.
  • Sophomore Shania Stone (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) swam a personal-best time of 1:06.53 in the women's 100 breast to place seventh. That time ranks fifth all-time at Wittenberg.
  • Freshman Sophie Paskiet (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ursula) finished 11th in the women's 100 breast in 1:08.18.
  • Senior Mackenzie Schuld (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River) was 14th in the women's 400 IM in 4:53.41.
  • Senior Zach Parkman (Lancaster, Ohio/Fisher Catholic) placed 14th in the men's 100 fly with a time of 53.02 seconds.
  • Sophomore McKenna Clark (Waynesville, Ohio/Carroll) finished 18th in the women's 200 free in 2:04.15. Sophomore Addy Payne (Sidney, Ohio/Sidney) was 21st in 2:12.89.
  • Sophomore Mason Steen (Leroy, Ohio/Riverside) placed 18th in the men's 100 breast in 1:01.67. Freshman Aidan Dannenfelser (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) was 23rd in 1:07.16, and sophomore Drew Vincent (Fleming, Ohio/Warren) was 24th in 1:07.22.
  • Junior Jenna Hallett (Delta, Ohio/Delta) finished 19th in the women's 100 fly in 1:10.55.
  • Sophomore Owen Gabel (New Bremen, Ohio/New Bremen) placed 17th in the men's 100 back in 56.91 seconds and was 27th in the men's 200 free in 1:51.69.
  • Sophomore Jon Wasky (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont) finished 23rd in the men's 100 back in 1:01.85.

Wittenberg Highlights - Finals

  • Parkman finished tied for 12th in the 100 fly in a personal-best 52.13 seconds, which ranks fifth all-time in program history.
  • Competing in the A final of the 100 breast, Stone placed eighth in 1:07.10.
  • Paskiet improved on her prelim time in the 100 breast, winning the B final and placing 10th overall in a personal-best 1:07.42, which ranks sixth all-time at Wittenberg.
  • Schuld finished 14th in the 400 IM in 4:51.01.
  • Clark finished 16th in the 200 free in 2:02.09. Payne was 21st in 2:11.43.
  • Steen finished 18th in the 100 breast in 1:01.27. Vincent was 23rd in 1:07.35, and Dannenfelser was 24th in 1:07.55.
  • Hallett placed 19th in the 100 fly in 1:11.04.
  • Gabel placed 18th in the 100 back in 56.63 seconds and was 26th in the 200 free in 1:51.34.
  • Wasky finished 23rd in the 100 back in 1:02.01.
  • The women's 200 free relay team of Stone, Clark, Schuld and freshman Rebekah Lebold (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) finished fifth in 1:42.61.
  • The men's 200 free relay team of Gabel, Vincent, Parkman and Steen placed ninth in 1:31.20.

  • The Tigers return to action on Saturday for the last of four days at the NCAC Championships at Denison. Prelims begin at 9:30 a.m., and the finals begin at 6 p.m.
