Tigers Face Tough Competition

Lexington, KY- The Tigers travelled down to Lexington Kentucky for the weekend to compete at the Transylvania Invitational. The women came in fifth with 223 points combined while the men picked up 220 points for another fifth place finish in Kentucky.

The Women: The women were able to knock off a few competitors to put them in championship races with places of second, third and fifth. Marita Banta-Long finished in second place with a time of 2:16.79 in the 200 Yard IM Championship race and another second place finish in the 200 yard fly championship race, finishing at 2:26.92. Abby Dunasky was able to pick up a third place finish in the women's 50 yard free championship race with a time of 5:28.26 and a second place finish in the 1650 yard free with a time of 19:38.24. Bridget Logan had a second place finish in the championship race of the 100 yard free with a time of 55.11 and Sophia Spriggs had a time of 2:23.84 in the 200 yard backstroke championship race to give her a fifth place finish.

The Men: the men leaned on senior Brad Barren and freshman, Sam Dudley for points in the 100 yard breast and free. Sam Dudley placed sixth in the men's 100 yard breast championship race with a time of 1:01.61. Brad Barren placed seventh in the 100 yard free championship race for the men with a time of 48.42.

Up Next: Both teams will return after the holiday break in January to compete against Wooster and Oberlin in Wooster, OH.
