Men's Swimming and Diving Finishes Third at Transylvania Invitational

LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY-- The Tigers finished in third place at the conclusion of the Transylvania Invitational over the weekend. Wittenberg scored 460 total points, behind Franklin College and invitational champion Rose-Hulman.

Wittenberg was lead all weekend by Freshman Sam Bott (Des Moines, Iowa/Dowling) and Willie Smith (Goldsboro, North Carolina/Eastern Wayne). The two together compiled an impressive weekend with numerous top-seven finishes for Wittenberg.

MEN'S TOP FINISHES

  • W. Smith took home second place in both the one-meter and three-meter diving competitions.
  • Bott swam his way to a third place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle, as well as a fourth place finish in the 500-yard freestyle.
  • Kyle Smith (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) and Paul Salay (Glenview, Illinois/Glenbrook South) helped guide Wittenberg to third place finishes in the 200-yard medley and freestyle relays as well as fifth place finishes in the 400-yard medley and freestyle relays.
  • K. Smith rounded out his day with a seventh place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.

UP NEXT

  • The Tigers take a hiatus over the holiday and return to action for their training trip January 5, against Allegheny, in Coral Springs, Florida.
