ADA, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers earned a split of a double-dual at Ohio Northern with a 193-84 win over North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) rival Oberlin and a 184-94 loss to the host Polar Bears.

The split left Wittenberg with a 5-1 dual meet record, heading into a three-week break from competition before the Transylvania Invitational.

The meet started with a strong finish in the 400-yard medley relay. The quartet of junior Stephen Stuthers (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic), senior AJ Burt (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming), senior James Dumstorf (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) and freshman Jacob Griffith (Pickerington, Ohio/North) placed second in a time of 3:41.

Stuthers added finishes of third in the 100-yard backstroke, second in the 200-yard backstroke and third in the 200-yard Individual Medley. Burt also scored big points for the Tigers as he placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke and second in the 500-yard freestyle.

Rounding out the top performers in the pool for Wittenberg were Dumstorf with second place in the 200-yard butterfly, first in the 200-yard breaststroke and first in the 100-yard butterfly. In addition, the Tigers got a pair of first-place finishes from senior Eric Roberts (Willits, Calif./Willits) in the 3-meter and 1-meter diving events.
