Tigers Finish Out Dual Meet Schedule At Kenyon

GAMBIER, Ohio — The Wittenberg men's and women's swimming and diving teams dropped a fual-meet matchup at Kenyon College on Saturday, falling by scores of 141-91 and 145-84 for the men and women, respectively.

The 50-yard freestyle was a strength for both sides, as sophomore Dani Lacy (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Collegiate School) swam to a second-place finish on a time of 25.05 for the women and junior Jared Crum (Galveston, Ind./Lewis Cass) finished in third with a time of 22.31 for the men.

The 100-yard breaststroke was another high point for the Tigers as senior Molly Gustafson (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) staked her claim to the 100-yard breaststroke by winning the event on a time of 1:08.40 and junior A.J. Burt (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming) won the men's event with a final time of 59.77.

From the boards, junior Eric Roberts (Willits, Calif./Willits) captured first place on the one-meter plank by scoring 267.83 in the men's competition, while freshman Kate Gustafson (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) finished second at the same height for the women. Roberts would go on to finish second in the three-meter event.

Junior James Dumstorf (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) powered his way to a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly on a time of 52.86, while freshman Emalie Taylor (Ann Arbor, Mich./Dexter) claimed second place in the women's 100-yard freestyle and AJ Burt matched in the men's version, as did freshman Nick Rittenhouse (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) in the 100-yard backstroke.

The Tigers now return home to prepare the 2014 North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet, to be held at Trumbull Aquatics Center on the campus of Denison University, Wednesday, Feb. 12, through Saturday, Feb. 15.
