SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Wittenberg swimming & diving teams welcomed the Ohio Northern Polar Bears to the HPER Center Natatorium on Friday night and finished with a split. The Tigers won the women's matchup 153-81 but dropped the men's 125-106.

Junior diver Eric Roberts (Willits, Calif./Willits) had another big night on the boards with a win in the one-meter competition on a score of 252.40, and a close three-point second-place finish on the three-meter board, just behind sophomore teammate Kevin Duhl (Westerville, Ohio/North).

For the women, freshman Emily Allen (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) continued a strong run with a 239.85 from the three-meter board and a 225.25 from the one-meter, both good for first place.

In the lanes, the Tigers' big women's win came thanks to many impressive finishes. It started with a 200-yard medley relay victory for senior Sarah Wilson (Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe), sophomore Madeline Kraft (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth), freshman Amy Schulz (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) and sophomore Dani Lacy (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Collegiate School). That was followed by sophomore Margaret White (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) winning the 1000-yard freestyle and freshman Emily Faas (Mason, Ohio/Mason) claiming the 200-yard freestyle on a time of 2:02.63.

Lacy added her second winning contribution in the 50-yard freestyle with a 25.50 finish, and also touched first in the 100-yard version on a time of 55.03 before White won the 500-yard freestyle. Schulz continued the strong run with a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke.

The women put a bow on the win with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay, consisting of Faas, freshman Emalie Taylor (Ann Arbor, Mich./Dexter), junior Logan Griffith (Pickerington, Ohio/North) and White.

For the men, James Dumstorf (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) posted his second time of less than one minute in the 100-yard breaststroke this season with a 59.54 victory. That came late in the meet, but he contributed from the start with a leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay team. He was joined by sophomore Stephen Stuthers (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic), freshman Jacob Griffith (Pickerington, Ohio/North), and junior Jared Crum (Galveston, Ind./Lewis Cass).

Crum went on to post a 22.79 win in the 50-yard freestyle before Dumstorf took the title in the 200-yard individual medley on a time of 2:01.93 to bring his night-long total to three victories, including the relay.

The Tigers continue action at Oberlin College tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m.
