Brenton Dawson resumed his assistant coaching duties at Wittenberg University in 2013. A year later, he has become Wittenberg's first full-time assistant coach for both men's and women's soccer.

Dawson will work closely with the head coaches of both the men's and women's soccer programs. He will assist with all areas, including practice and game preparations, recruiting, compliance and alumni relations.

A 2008 graduate of Capital University, where he earned a bachelor's in communication studies, Dawson brings two years of NCAA Division III playing experience from his time with the Crusaders. Dawson also played for a year at American University in Rome, Italy.

In 2013, Dawson was named head coach of the semi-pro Zanesville Athletic FC, a member of the National Premier Soccer League. In the same year, he returned to Wittenberg as an assistant coach, following two years on the staff from 2008 to 2009. During that span, the Tigers achieved a top-five national ranking and appeared in the NCAA Division III national tournament.

In the interim, Dawson spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Heidelberg, helping the 'Berg to an undefeated season in the Ohio Athletic Conference and the first OAC title in school history, as well as one season at NCAA Division II Tiffin University.

Dawson's coaching experience also includes years of summer camps and various age groups in Club Ohio FC in Dublin, Ohio. His licensing includes a USSF National "B" License and an NSCAA Premier Diploma. In addition, he holds a State Goalkeeping Diploma from the NSCAA.

A native of Springfield, Dawson played four years for North High School. He currently resides in Columbus.
