Men's Soccer Survives Allegheny On Senior Day

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg men's soccer team celebrated Senior Day with an exciting 2-1 overtime win over the visiting Gators of Allegheny College. Wittenberg battled Allegheny for over 100 minutes before the Red and White earned their second penalty shot opportunity of overtime to give them the game-clinching opportunity.

River Banks stepped up to the penalty spot in the second overtime period and buried the second Tiger goal in the back of the net to give Wittenberg the 2-1 win over Allegheny. Wittenberg got the scoring started in the 73rd minute when Aaron Craddock found Jack Benak to put the Tigers on the board. Wittenberg led the shot count 11-9 at the end of regulation. The Gators had three shots in the first overtime period, with Wittenberg taking two shots. The Tiger's would put away their only shot of the second overtime to take the game.

With the support of their teammates, family this senior class, including; Chad Brewer, Jack Smith, Alex Sheppard, Ross Angelo, Jake Rubin, and Scott Durham represent the best of Wittenberg University and Division III athletics.
