Tigers Take Down MSJ In Home Opener

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg men's soccer made their 2019 home debut, taking on the Lions from Mount St. Joseph University on Wednesday evening. The Tigers jumped out to an early lead before cruising to a 6-0 win. The Red and White got the scoring early, taking a 1-0 lead off the Aaron Craddock unassisted goal in the 5th minute of action. The Tigers jumped back on the attack just minutes later, with Andres Mujica scoring his first of two goals on the evening, capitalizing on the Jack Benak assist. Wittenberg took a 3-0 lead into the break after Sean Williams found the back of the MSJ goal off the Craddock assist in the 14th minute.

Wittenberg kept the pressure on in the second half, with Mujica scoring his second goal of the night, coming off the assist of Edwin Blanco. Williams extended the Wittenberg lead out to 5-0 in the 67th minute scoring an unassisted goal. Gus Esterline capped off the Tiger scoring extravaganza with a deep shot that froze the MSJ keeper in the 83rd minute.

Jason Bowen picked up his first win of the season, making two saves on the night. With Harrison VanTilburg coming in to close out win for the Red and White.
