Tigers Drop Overtime Battle At Muskingum

New Concord, OH – The Wittenberg men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought road battle to Muskingum University on Wednesday evening, falling 3-2 in the overtime thriller. The two sides were deadlocked at 2-2 at the end of regulation. The first Tiger goal came from Danny Kukanza off the Aaron Craddock assist just a minute into the second half, breaking the Wittenberg scoring drought. After Muskingum regained the lead late in the game, Sean Williams found the back of the Muskie net in the 89th minute, forcing the overtime period. Wittenberg kept the pressure up for the entire game, peppering the Muskingum net, leading Muskingum in shots 21-14. Jason Bowen made seven saves for the Red and White while in goal.

 

UP NEXT: Wittenberg will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 7, traveling to Geneva for a 1:00 PM showdown with the Golden Tornadoes.
