Men's Soccers Battles DePauw On The Road

Greencastle, Ind. – It was a back and forth battle on the pitch at DePauw University, as the Wittenberg men's soccer team fell 3-2 in double-overtime to their NCAC rival. Wittenberg took DePauw into the 102nd minute of the game knotted up at 2-2 before the host Tigers escaped with the win.

Game Breakdown

The first 45 minutes of actions would see nothing but eight shots to start the night. DePauw leading the count early, taking 19 total shots to Wittenberg's five on the evening. Jacob Snowden would put Wittenberg on the board in the 69th minute of action, finding the back of the DePauw net for the unassisted goal. DePauw would come back to tie the game up at 1-1 just three minutes later. Senior Alberto Zaragoza put Wittenberg back on top in the 83rd, tallying his 12th goal of the season. It was not long before DePauw would strike again, bringing things back to even at 2-2 in the 86th minute. Wittenberg would survive the first overtime, fending off four DePauw shots. DePauw would sneak their final goal in at the 102nd minute of the second overtime. Jack Snider recorded five saves against eight shots on goal in a complete game in goal for Wittenberg.
