Tigers Drop 4-1 Decision To Albion

Springfield, Ohio – The Wittenberg men's soccer team returned to action at Edwards-Maurer Field, hosting the Brits of Albion College on Friday Night. The Tigers fell to the Brits 4-1, dropping their first game on their home turf since a heartbreaking 1-0 overtime loss to Marietta in their second game of the season.

 

Game Breakdown

The Brits opened the scoring in the 10th minute of play, adding their second goal of the game in the 32nd of action. Wittenberg would keep Albion scoreless for the final thirteen minutes of action, as the Brits would have a 2-0 lead at the break. The Tigers would find their stride late in the game when Jake Rubin would find the back of the Albion net in the 86th minute to put Wittenberg on the board with their first goal of the night.

 

UP NEXT

Wittenberg will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 18 when they host national power Calvin College at 5:30 PM at Edwards-Maurer Field. This will be one of the final out of conference games for the Tigers this season, before opening up to host the Lords of Kenyon College on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7:30 PM.
