Cincinnati, Ohio – The Wittenberg men's soccer team picked up their fourth consecutive win on Wednesday evening, traveling to Mount St. Joseph and taking down the Lions 2-1 in double overtime. This is the best start to a season by the Tigers since 2008 when Wittenberg earned an NCAC Tournament Runner-Up finish, along with an NCAA Tournament bid.
Game Breakdown
Alberto Zaragoza continued his hot start to the season for the Tigers, opening the scoring for Wittenberg by netting his sixth goal of the season in the 77th minute. Zaragoza's unassisted goal gave the Tigers the early 1-0 advantage after over 75 minutes of scoreless action, though the Lions would come back on the counter-attack to tie the game back up at 1-1 in the 84th minute. Zaragoza would put the winning goal in the back of the MSJ net during the second overtime in the 107th minute, giving the Tigers the 2-1 win on the evening.
By the Numbers
Wittenberg would double the MSJ shot count on the night, taking 19 shots to the Lions eight. Freshman Jason Bowen recorded three saves in goal, picking up his second win in the net for the Tigers.

The rebuilding process is not simple or linear. There are moments of surprise and whether positive or negative, each provides a lesson to be learned. The signs are there, we're moving forward, finding ways to win. Tonight, was hard, very hard. But we got the job done.
