SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—Wittenberg men's soccer had to wait nearly a week before getting back into action at Edwards-Maurer field, but the Tigers had their chance to play to a home crowd on Wednesday night as the Polar Bears from Ohio Northern University rolled into town. The Tigers struggled to mark some of the Polar Bears key offensive players early, but were gifted an equalizing goal in the second half as a corner kick knocked off of a flurry of Polar Bears, landing in their own net.  The 2-1 loss puts the Tigers at 1-1 on the season with the non-conference portion of the schedule in full affect.

GAME BREAKDOWN

  • The Polar Bears opened up the scoring early as the Tigers fell behind 1-0 in the beginning of the first half.
  • Wittenberg caught a break midway through the second-period as a corner kick took a home-filed bounce off of an ONU defender, right into their own net.
  • Jack Snider recorded four saves in the loss, as the sophomore goalkeeper did all he could to keep the Tigers in the game with multiple goal-saving efforts on the night.

UP NEXT
