KENOSHA, Wis. - A long road trip to the Badger State started on a disappointing note for the Wittenberg Tigers as Wisconsin-Whitewater recorded a 7-0 victory at Carthage's Battle on the Border.

The loss dropped Wittenberg to 2-4-2 on the season. Wisconsin-Whitewater remained unbeaten at 7-0-0.

Wisconsin-Whitewater piled up five goals in the opening 45 minutes, and the Warhawks added two more in the second half to account for the final margin. The final shot count was 14-5 in favor of Wisconsin-Whitewater, who were ranked 17th in the most recent d3soccer.com poll.

Freshmen Nick Gutlove (Canton, Ohio/IMG Academy (Fla.)) and Kevin Helt (New Carlisle, Ohio/Tecumseh) were each credited with two shots in the game to lead Wittenberg's offense. Freshman goalkeeper Jack Snider (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek) contributed three saves at the other end of the pitch.

Wittenberg will wrap up their trip to Wisconsin with a game against host Carthage on Sunday, Sept. 20.
