WOOSTER, Ohio – The Wittenberg men's soccer team improved to 6-9-1 overall and picked up a North Coast Athletic Conference victory with a 3-1 win over Wooster on Saturday.

The Tigers claimed their first NCAC win to improve to 1-6 on the season.

Senior Reed Glosser (Toledo, Ohio/Ottawa Hills) led the way with two goals, including the game-winner, to double his career scoring total. He opened the Tigers' scoring in the 28th minute when he intercepted a pass and worked his way past a defender on the way to the net.

Just 1:24 later, the Fighting Scots answered to tie the score at 1-1. But Glosser was back at it in the 42nd minute, scoring off an assist from sophomore Patrick Szymczak (Westerville, Ohio/South) to take a lead that would hold the rest of the game.

In the 75th minute, freshman Teddy Price (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) converted a corner kick by freshman Josh McErlean (Columbus, Ohio/Westerville South) into a goal to establish the final margin.

Glosser shared the team lead in shots at three with freshman Alexandre Veuthey (Geneva, Switzerland) and senior Brian Boutin (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon). Senior goalkeeper James Van Artsdalen (Riverwoods, Ill./Deerfield) made four stops while facing just five shots on goal thanks to solid defensive play ahead of him from the likes of senior Adam Pitchel (Dayton, Ohio/Centerville) and freshman Matthew Bayler (Brownsburg, Ind./Cardinal Ritter).

The Tigers play their last home game of the season when they host Kenyon at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Edwards-Maurer Field. The season finale comes at 2:30 p.m. at Allegheny on Saturday, Nov. 1.
