GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The Wittenberg Tigers have played four North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) games so far in the 2014 season. Three of them have ended in 2-1 scores - all with Wittenberg on the short end.

The latest 2-1 loss came to the DePauw Tigers, and it left Wittenberg with records of 5-7-1 overall and 0-4-0 in the league. DePauw improved to 8-5 overall and 3-2 in the NCAC.

DePauw opened the scoring in the 21st minute, but senior Brian Boutin (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) tied the game at the 39:43 mark. Just 16 seconds prior to the halftime horn, however, DePauw jumped back on top.

That one-goal lead held up the rest of the way. DePauw finished the game with a 16-7 advantage in shots, in addition to a 7-4 edge in corner kick opportunities. Individually, sophomore Tucker Stas (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) and Boutin led Wittenberg with two shots apiece.

In goal, Wittenberg's James Van Artsdalen (Riverwoods, Ill./Deerfield) was credited with seven saves.
