GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers fell to 0-3 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) after Denison's Mark Waterman scored a late goal to give the host Big Red a 2-1 victory.

The loss was Wittenberg's fourth in a row, and it dropped the Tigers to 5-6-1 overall and 0-3-0 in the NCAC. Denison improved to 2-1 in the league and 5-5-1 overall.

Denison jumped on the board first with a goal in the 18th minute, part of a dominating first half for the Big Red that featured a 10-2 advantage in shots. Action was more even in the second half, although Denison still held a 24-8 edge in shots by game's end. The Big Red also had a 7-5 edge in corner kick opportunities.

Wittenberg rallied in the 64th minute as freshman Alexandre Veuthey (Geneva, Switzerland) evened the score with his fifth goal of the season. That tied senior Brian Boutin (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) for the team lead.

That set the stage for Waterman's game-winner at the 81:25 mark. Over the final eight minutes, the Tigers did manage to put some pressure on the Big Red goal but shots by Boutin and freshman Teddy Price (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) were both saved.

Senior James Van Artsdalen (Riverwoods, Ill./Deerfield) was credited with three saves in one half of action in goal and freshman Robby Frye (Loveland, Ohio/Kings) took his turn over the final 45 minutes, making five saves.
