GAMBIER, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers dropped their final road game of the 2013 season as North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) rival Kenyon broke out for four goals in the second half en route to a 6-1 win.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 5-12-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the league. Kenyon improved to 13-3-2 overall and 6-0-2 in the NCAC.

The Lords jumped on top with a goal just 1:15 into the game, but Wittenberg showed some spark with a goal from freshman Patrick Szymczak (Westerville, Ohio/South) just over 10 minutes later to even the score. In the 28th minute, however, Kenyon went back on top on Tony Amolo's second tally of the first half.

The Lords opened the final 45 minutes much as they had started the game, scoring a mere 49 seconds after the kick-off. That started a four-goal outburst that accounted for the game's final margin.

Kenyon held a commanding advantage in shots of 28-3 in the game, in addition to five corner kicks against just one for Wittenberg. In goal, junior James Van Artsdalen (Riverwoods, Ill./Deerfield) was credited with seven saves over the first 54:39 before giving way to junior Jeff Mengerink (Delaware, Ohio/Hayes), who made two saves.
