Terriers Nip Tigers In Saturday Road Match

HIRAM, Ohio – Wittenberg men's soccer fell to 4-10-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference with a 2-0 loss to the Hiram Terriers on Saturday while on the road.

Hiram limited the Tigers to three shots in the game, with only sophomore Ross Cirincione (Medina, Ohio/Medina) putting a try on frame.

Junior Adam Pitchel (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) and freshman Andre Lorenz (Apple Creek, Ohio/Waynedale) accounted for the balance of the shots.

Junior goalkeeper James Van Artsdalen (Riverwoods, Ill./Deerfield) posted seven saves and allowed two goals in 72:49 in front of the net. He was relieved by junior Jeff Mengerink (Delaware, Ohio/Hayes), who finished out the remaining 17:11 and faced no shots on goal.

With four games remaining on the regular season schedule, the Tigers have two home matches and two away matches left. The final haul starts at Wabash on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 4 p.m.
