SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers fell behind 3-0 just 26 minutes into the game and never recovered in a 6-1 loss to nationally ranked DePauw.

The host Tigers fell to 4-9-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) with the loss. DePauw, ranked 11th in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, improved to 12-1-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the league.

DePauw held a commanding 32-6 advantage in shots, and the visiting Tigers cashed in on three of those scoring opportunities in each half. Both teams finished the game with three corner kicks.

Trailing 6-0 in the late going, the Tigers drew one goal back as junior Adam Pitchel (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) found the back of the net. The assist was credited to freshman Andre Lorenz (Apple Creek, Ohio/Waynedale).

In goal, junior James Van Artsdalen (Riverview, Ill./Deerfield) finished with six saves in the game.
