DELAWARE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers dropped a 6-0 decision to the top-ranked team in the nation, Ohio Wesleyan.

The loss dropped Wittenberg to 4-6-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). Ohio Wesleyan improved to 13-0-0 on the 2013 season, including a mark of 2-0-0 in the league.

The Battling Bishops opened the scoring in the 14th minutes and added a second goal at the 33:06 mark. Ohio Wesleyan broke the game open with a pair of scores in the first five minutes of the second half, and the Battling Bishops tacked on two more goals at the 70:02 and 81:00 marks.

OWU outshot the visiting Tigers by a whopping 37-5 margin and held a 4-3 edge in corner kick opportunities. In goal, Wittenberg picked up 10 saves in the first 70 minutes from junior James Van Artsdalen (Riverview, Ill./Deerfield) and one save from junior Jeff Mengerink (Delaware, Ohio/Hayes) over the final 19:58.
