CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers continued their offensive resurgence with a 4-1 decision at Mount St. Joseph.

It was the second straight four-goal game for Wittenberg, which scored just 25 goals in the entire 2012 season. The Tigers aren't even to the midway point of the 2013 campaign, and they already have 17 tallies in eight games.

Wittenberg improved to 4-4 thanks to a most efficient offensive performance. The Tigers attempted 13 shots, with four of them going on frame. All four shots on target found the back of the Mount St. Joseph net, with the Lions' two goalkeepers failing to register a single save in the game.

The Tigers scored twice in each half, starting with a goal from sophomore Zack Moore (Kettering, Ohio/Alter) in the 16th minute off a corner kick by senior Kevin Bond (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley). Freshman Patrick Szymczak (Westerville, Ohio/South) put Wittenberg ahead 2-0 after scoring off an assist from freshman Josh Marks (Hertfordshire, England/Watford Grammar School for Boys) in the 24th minute.

Bond made it a three-goal lead in the 61st minute as he took a pass from freshman Tucker Stas (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley), and Marks rounded things out with a tally in the 75th minute as junior Mitch Rudibaugh (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) picked up the assists. In between, Mount St. Joseph scored its lone goal.

The Lions held a slim 14-13 advantage in shots, but the Tigers finished with a 12-6 lead in corner kick opportunities. Junior goalkeeper James Van Artsdalen (Riverwoods, Ill./Deerfield) was credited with six saves - three in each half.
