COLUMBUS, Ohio – Wittenberg and Capital played to a statistical stand-off before the host Crusaders found the back of the net with just four minutes left on the clock to claim a hard-fought 2-1 decision in the final game of the Capital/Fort Rapids Invitational.

The loss evened Wittenberg's record at 1-1, while the game served as the lid-lifter for Capital. It was the second of five games against Ohio Athletic Conference rivals in the 2013 season.

Capital jumped on top in the 40th minute and carried that 1-0 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Tigers bounced back 5:33 into the second half, however, as freshman Josh Marks (Hertfordshire, England/Watford Grammar School for Boys) took a shot that deflected off a defender and settled into the net to even the score.

Wittenberg outshot Capital 7-5 over the final 45 minutes, but the Crusaders were the team that broke through for the win as Luke Bobst tallied with just 4:01 remaining.

The Crusaders outshot Wittenberg 13-10 overall, but each team put seven shots on frame in the contest. Junior goalkeeper James Van Artsdalen (Riverwoods, Ill./Deerfield) was credited with five saves, while his Capital counterpart made six stops.
