CINCINNATI, Ohio — Fresh off one of the longest regular season road trips in program history, the Wittenberg men's soccer team got the bounceback victory it needed with a 2-0 shutout of host Mount St. Joseph.

Wittenberg improved to 4-3-1 overall, heading into the start of North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at Edwards-Maurer Field. Mount St. Joseph, which saw its women's team lose to Wittenberg on Monday by the same 2-0 score, dropped to 2-5.

Wittenberg outshot its host 18-11, with the entire seven-shot margin coming in the second half. Eleven different Wittenberg players were credited with at least shot in the game. In addition, the Tigers had five corner kick opportunities in the game, compared to four for Mount St. Joseph.

One of those opportunities was cashed in by senior Spencer Hogue (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome), who found the back of the net in the 76th minute, less than one minute after freshman Mitch Rudibaugh (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) scored his first collegiate goal.

Senior goalkeeper Mike Lambeck (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) made three saves on the night as his defensive unit allowed few quality offensive opportunities for the home team.
